With Time magazine choosing "you" as the "person of the year" for 2006 due to the rapid emergence and growth of user-generated content online, a new analysis finds that 8.9 million online consumers are visiting Web blogs for health information. According to Manhattan Research's Forecasting the Future: Consumers 2010 analysis, some 9.9 million consumers are regularly posting health information online in addition to just reading Web blogs. Consumers suffering from anxiety are most likely to read or post health information online, the firm reports. Manhattan Research adds that alternative media for health information such as MP3 players, podcasting, downloadable audio, streaming and digital video will become increasingly important in the future.
